Salt Lake luxury properties experienced a significant down swing
during 2009. There were
95 luxury real estate
transactions in Salt Lake during 2009, involving residential properties priced over
$750,000. Only one property sold for more than $2.5 million. The
highest priced property sold for just over $2.9 million. Over half of the luxury homes sold were less than $1 million dollar homes.
In fact, the median luxury home sold price was less than 1.0
million. It took a
median of
160 days on the market to sell these
luxury properties. Generally, the higher the purchase price, the longer the market time.
